James W. Irby Jr., PhD, ABPP-CN
Dr. Irby is a staff neuropsychologist who provides consultation services for the inpatient brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury units at Methodist Rehabilitation Center and also provides outpatient neuropsychological assessment and individual psychotherapy for individuals with brain injury and stroke. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology with board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology. He is a native of Jackson and a graduate of Millsaps College. He earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, completed internship in clinical psychology and neuropsychology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, and a two year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology with the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. In addition to an academic appointment with Millsaps College, he is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
