H. Chris Blount
Chris Blount serves as executive director of the Wilson Research Foundation, which connects state-of-the-art research to state-of-the-art patient care at Methodist Rehabilitation Center. The foundation's role is to sustain and grow the programs that make Methodist Rehab Center a regional and national center of excellence. Since its inception, the foundation has contributed more than $2.6 million to patient-focused research that drives innovation and effective treatments at the center.
In 2010, the foundation is conducting a new fundraising effort to sustain and expand this work, and our vision is to support the hospital’s research and broader development, including facilities and equipment, community and housing programs, and patient financial assistance.
Previously, Blount served for nine years as director of communications and public affairs for Madison-based Vertex Aerospace, a division of L-3 Communications Corp. (NYSE: LLL). Previous to this position, he served as vice president of regional relations for the MetroJackson Chamber of Commerce in Jackson.
Blount is a member of the boards of directors for numerous community and development organizations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals Mississippi Chapter and Madison The City Chamber of Commerce. He is president elect of the Madison-Ridgeland Rotary Club. Chris is a Certified Shelter Manager for the American Red Cross,
Blount received two degrees from Centenary College of Louisiana.
