Return to Sports Boosts Confidence of Young Athletes
Scott Therrell, an avid athlete, was paralyzed at 19. Today, thanks to Methodist Rehab's therapeutic recreation program, the 31-year-old is proof that life with a disability doesn't mean life as a spectator.


Bruce Hirshman, D.O.
Bruce Hirshman, D.O., a board certified pain management physician at Methodist Pain Management LLC, offers a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of pain. He uses injections, nerve blocks, medications, osteopathic manipulation and physician-directed physical therapy to treat acute and chronic pain, including neck, nerve and lower back pain, sciatica, headache, pain after shingles, and pain from arthritis of the spine and spinal stenosis.

Dr. Hirshman is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathy, a program that U.S. News & Word Report ranked among the top five in the nation for the education of family practice physicians. He board certified in anesthesiology, pain management and osteopathic manipulation. Before coming to Methodist Rehab, he  served as President and Medical Director of Spine and Pain Therapy of the Keys, an interventional pain management practice in Key West, Fla.
